Meal Plan Basics

All residents are required to purchase a meal plan except those living in off-campus housing in the Regency, Savin Court, & Main Street. Each plan has two parts: board meals and Dining Dollars. Board meals are breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday, and brunch and dinner on the weekends. There are a total of 14 meals per week, which are "all you care to eat" meals. During lunch, items are purchased a la carte using the Dining Dollars portion of the plan.

Dining Dollars may also be used at Jazzman's Café & Bakery, The UNH C-Store, The Charger Café, Pandini's, Grill 155, Sandella's, and Nrgize Lifestyle Cafe. In addition to the board meals at The Marketplace, Meal Plan Equivalency is available at three of our restaurants. Students can choose any items or select combo meals on the menu up to a value of $5.80. This meal then counts as one of the board meals for the week. If the meal exceeds $5.80, the remaining balance will be deducted from the Dining Dollars portion of the meal plan.

If you would like to use Meal Plan Equivalence, please inform your server whether you would like to use your dining dollars or equivalency when placing your order. Meal Plan Equivalence is available during regular board meal dinner service at Sandella's, Pandini's, and Grill 155. Dinner equivalence is available at all three locations from 4:30pm to 7:30pm during the week and 4:30pm to 6:30pm on the weekends. Breakfast equivalence is available only at Sandella's from 10:00am to 11:00am Monday through Friday.

All freshmen residents are required to purchase the Charger Unlimited plan. Sophomore, Junior, and Senior residents may choose any of the four plans.

Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes? Anticipating the answers to these and similar questions will help you select a meal plan that best fits your lifestyle.
